Do something different with your day. Here are 4 quick reasons why summer sightseeing at Lake Louise is worth a visit.
- A View with a Difference – Sure you can see the famous Lake Louise from the shoreline, but what about from across a valley? Nestled between some of the most striking mountains is the vivid green-blue hue of Lake Louise. A gem in the Canadian Rockies crown, viewing the glinting lake from the Lake Louise Ski Resort is incredible and awesome.
- Grizzly Bear Viewing – Who doesn’t like grizzlies? You can view these incredible animals from an open chair (or a closed gondola if you prefer) as you soar overhead. See the Grizzly in its natural habitat as it grazes on grass and chases ground squirrels around the resort.
- On-Mountain Dining – Fuel up before you head up the mountain. Breakfast and lunch buffets are served daily in the Lodge of the ten Peaks, plus a BBQ is available throughout August and September. NEW for 2014 are the food and beverage offerings at the newly renovated Whitehorn Lodge. Located at 6,700ft (2,042m), you can enjoy a coffee or a fully catered lunch with one of the most spectacular views across the valley towards Lake Louise.
- Interpretation Centre and Hiking – Once at the top of Lake Louise, there are a variety of activities. You can enjoy the spectacular scenery from the viewing platform and visit the wildlife interpretation centre at Whitehorn Lodge. From there you can take a guided 45min easy walk with Lake Louise staff through the high alpine that showcases the nature of the great Grizzly bear.
