Banff National Park is bursting with New Year’s Eve festivities to ring in 2020! From on-resort parades to downtown Banff activities, these events are sure to delight all ages.

Torchlight Parades at SkiBig3 Resorts

Banff Sunshine Village – At 7 p.m. on December 31st, watch Banff Sunshine Village’s specially trained torchbearers put on a nighttime show for the guests of the Sunshine Mountain Lodge.

Mt. Norquay – On December 31st, add a little light show magic to your New Year’s traditions with Norquay’s Torchlight Parade! A select number of brave Norquay instructors and staff will take on the North American run from the Big Chair with torches in hand for a light spectacle you don’t want to miss! The best spot to view is right from downtown Banff. So, bundle up the family, grab a hot chocolate, and enjoy the show! Consider it a little gift from us to the town for another great year.

Rocky Mountain New Year’s Eve at Lake Louise Ski Resort

Enjoy a spectacular buffet supper, cash bar, night snow tubing followed by a dance party with One Nite Band, right until midnight with of course, a champagne toast! Bring the whole family to ring in 2020 in Lake Louise!

Snowshoe Under the Stars at Lake Louise Ski Resort

Enjoy New Year’s Eve on your snowshoes! This truly unique winter experience will take you on an awe-inspiring nighttime walk to view the night sky as you’ve never seen it before. With a focus on constellations, mythology, Aurora Borealis and wildlife, this is a special tour you can enjoy with the whole family. The tour breaks for time to get cozy around the fire up on the mountain for some s’mores & stories.

Downtown Banff Celebrations

Main Stage on Banff Avenue + Wolf Street – From 7 p.m. onward, enjoy musical performacnes from the main stage, including Swanee & Charlie B and The Steadies, as well as a Narrated Dance Demonstration with Blackfoot Medicine Speaks, DJs, and fire dancers.

Banff Ave + Caribou – Enjoy even more fun activities like the Lil Toots Train, Fat Bike Course, Hot Chocolate and puppet shows, outdoor games, and a Marshmallow warming stati

Downtown Ice Rink – Grab a pair of skates and head over to the downtown rink for a skating party. Don’t miss the comedy and magic of Isabelle La Wonderful.

Midnight Pyrotechnic Display – At midnight, welcome in the New Year with a pyrotechnic display from the downtown ice rink. To be mindful of our wildlife neighbours in the Bow Valley, there will be no fireworks.

Town of Canmore Celebrations

New Year’s Eve Party on the Pond – From 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., skate to the live music under a starry sky drinking hot chocolate and warming up by the bonfires with other families. Enjoy live music by local band Elk Run & Riot, bonfires, a DJ, hot chocolate and food vendors. Family  pyrotechnics show begin at 8 p.m.
