Snow School Lessons

A Private Guided Adventure is your personal tour guide around our SkiBig3 mountains! Part tour, part lesson – it’s whatever you’d like it to be, the qualified instructor is all yours. Whether you’ve never been to Banff before and want to learn your way around the resorts, or you want to discover the powder, a Private Guided Adventure would be great for you and your party.

You can have up to 5 people in your adventure for no extra cost, or up to 8 guests for an additional fee. We have half and full day programmes, or multi-day programmes if you want to explore more than one resort on your visit here. Participants should be of a similar ability level to make the most out of their adventure.

Yes, you will need to purchase a lift ticket or season pass separately. You will also need to rent equipment or bring your own to your Lesson or Guided Adventure.

Your SkiBig3 Lesson or Guided Adventure does not include equipment rental, or lift tickets. These will need to be organized separately. Please make sure you arrive at your lesson with all of your gear, ready to go. You can contact us at packages@skibig3.com or call on 1-844-754-2443 and we’d be happy to help you arrange this.

If you have booked a SkiBig3 private lesson, your instructor will contact you a day or so before to arrange with you, where and when you’ll meet. In general, AM and full day lessons will start at 9am and PM lessons begin at 1pm.

If you’ve booked a lesson directly with the resorts, please check your confirmation email for exact details.

Your SkiBig3 private lesson can take place at any of our three resorts! You can make a request if you have a preference. If you’re not sure, that’s okay! Your instructor will contact you the day or so before your lesson to discuss, and they can make a suggestion for you.

You can have up to five participants in your SkiBig3 private lesson. Participants would need to be doing the same sport, and be approximately the same ability level. Please note, the lesson will be taught at the ability of the least experienced rider.

The base price for a SkiBig3 Guided Adventures includes a max group size of five guests. Guided Adventures can include a combination of both skiers and snowboarders, however all participants should be approximately the same ability level. 

Additional guests (to a maximum groups size of 8) can be added to your Guided Adventure for an additional $25 per person. 

You can purchase group lessons through SkiBig3, which will be run by the resorts specific snow schools. Our SkiBig3 private lessons are suitable for up to 5 participants of the same ability lesson, so this could also be a good option for you if there’s more than one of you! Our private lessons are suitable for kids – you can have up to 5 people of the same ability in a private lesson, so it could be great value! We can also help you book your kiddos into a kids’ group lesson run by the individual resorts. Please give us a call on 1-844-754-2443 and we’d be happy to help you arrange this.

Your instructor will contact you around 48 hours in advance either via text or email, to discuss your lesson and arrange a meeting point.

Your Snow-Pro will be in touch with you around 48 hours prior to your lesson start to arrange a specific meeting place, but here are the usual locations: 

Banff Sunshine:  Top of the Gondola outside of Trappers Restaurant and the Sunshine snow school office.

Lake Louise: At the ‘Meeting Place’, located outside of the rental shop.

Mt Norquay: Outside of the Cascade Lodge main entrance.

All three resorts are great for skiers and riders of all levels. If you book a Private Lesson or Guided Adventure with us, your instructor will recommend a resort for you to ski at, based on your ability, preferences, where you’re located (Banff or Lake Louise), and snow or weather conditions.

Yes, all participants will be required to sign a waiver form prior to the start of a Private Lesson or Guided Adventure.

SkiBig3 instructors will be wearing a blue jacket with a SkiBig3 logo, and grey ski pants.

Please contact both your instructor and our reservations department (1-844-754-2443) as soon as possible to advise of illness. In some instances, we may be able to reschedule, but this is not guaranteed.

SkiBig3 does not have a rental location in Lake Louise. The SkiBig3 Adventure Hub is located at 114 Banff Avenue, in downtown Banff, so you will need to stop in town to collect your rentals prior to heading towards your accommodation in Lake Louise. Your equipment will need to be returned to the SkiBig3 Adventure Hub in Banff when you finish your final ski day.

If you are skiing/riding exclusively at Lake Louise, gear is available for rent directly from the Lake Louise Ski Resort.
